Target group

This is specialist training for managers/supervisors and designated senior managers who have oversight and management of allegations against staff/volunteers who work with children and young people.

This course aims to assist learners in dealing effectively with allegations against staff and promoting safe working practice by staff, thereby reducing the risk of allegations of inappropriate conduct and harm to children. The training will equip practitioners to understand the context and their responsibilities when safeguarding children.

Training should be refreshed every three years.

  • Familiarity with content and documents relating to: Allegations against staff

Aims and objectives

To reflect and explore allegation management:

  • Promote safer practices within your organisation
  • Identify concerns and respond to allegations about staff
  • Follow local and national guidance
  • Understand the responsibilities of your role and other professionals in responding to concerns
  • Carry out your duty to remove unsuitable people from the workforce if necessary
