Training delivered in a virtual classroom on Zoom. This course is aimed at professionals working with children and/or their parents who contribute to assessing, planning, intervening and evaluating the needs of a child and parenting capacity where there are safeguarding/child protection concerns. The training will equip practitioners to understand the context and their responsibilities when working with hostile, resistant families and those who use disguised compliance. It aims to increase practitioner’s confidence working with challenging, uncooperative or reluctant parents and explores how to identify and respond to disguised compliance to ensure the best outcome for the child. Target groupAll staff working in settings who may be in contact with children, young people and/or parents/carers who may become aware of possible abuse or neglect.
