This session will be delivered virtually via MS Teams.

Please note: some of this event will be recorded.

Target group

Any professional is welcome to attend. However the content of this event is focused on education professionals working in settings with young people, individually or in a group, who may become aware of signs of vulnerability to radicalisation.

This would also be relevant to professionals working within in early year’s settings and childminders.

Event overview

The event will provide information on how to recognise possible concerns from radicalisation and how to respond to effectively to safeguard young people. It will also provide an understanding of Ofsted requirements in relation to Prevent, how to access local support and insight into the Channel experience.

Learning objectives

  • To recognise what makes people vulnerable to radicalisation
  • To know what radicalisation is and why it is important to discuss and address in relation to safeguarding
  • To understand how the Prevent strategy and Channel process can be used to support individuals, improve their health and well- being outcomes and divert them away from potential harm
  • To be aware of your responsibilities in relation to Prevent
  • To understand Ofsted requirements in relation to Prevent
