Trauma informed practice was identified as a learning theme in Safeguarding Adult Review (SAR Andrew) highlighting the need when working with adults to support the understanding and use of trauma informed approaches in practice.

This webinar will be relevant to all professionals working across the safeguarding partnership.

This session aims to deepen understanding of working in a Trauma Informed way and supporting professional practice by gaining knowledge and insights.

This session will explore:

  • the impact of ACEs and Trauma 
  • ow toxic stress in childhood impacts development and adult behaviour.
  • the five core principles of trauma informed approaches: Safety, Choice, Trustworthiness, Collaboration and Empowerment. 

Polly-Emily Taylor, from The Nelson’s Trust, will facilitate the session. Polly-Emily has over 10 years operational and client facing experience and has a vast knowledge of the application of Trauma Informed practice and face-to-face working with trauma survivors.
