Safeguarding is about protecting children and adults from harm, abuse, and neglect.

It's essential that all colleagues — even those not working directly with residents or the community — have a basic understanding of safeguarding. In this course, you’ll gain awareness of:

  • What Child and Adult Safeguarding means
  • The different types of abuse, including:
    • Physical
    • Emotional
    • Sexual
    • Financial
    • Neglect (including self-neglect)
    • Domestic abuse
    • Organisational abuse
    • Prevent Duty (radicalisation)
    • All-age exploitation
  • The signs and indicators of abuse
  • What to do if you’re worried about a child, adult, or family
