Title Understanding local pathways for supporting those impacted by child sexual abuse
Details

This online event in October 2024 provided information about local support services for those impacted by child sexual abuse. It was facilitated by colleagues from Barnardo’s, CAMHS, FearFree, First Light, NSPCC, The Bridge, We Stand and Early Intervention Response, Swindon Borough Council.

The presentations included information about:

  • local support services available
  • who can access the service
  • how to access the service

View the recordings and presentation slides below to find out more.

Health warning: Some of the content of the resources may be difficult to hear or read due to the subject matter. If this triggers or upsets you, please look after yourself and seek some support from colleagues in your agency or service, such as your Line Manager or Human Resources.

At the start of the session we shared a Poem - I Wonder If You See Me - A Spoken Word Poem About Childhood Trauma. You can view the clip below.

Video length: 3 minutes (This comes with a trigger warning for anyone who has experienced any sort of trauma).

This poem was originally written to explain a bit about what it means to be trauma informed when working with children and young people who have been through tough stuff.
