This course explores the subject of child neglect with a view to carrying out effective multi-agency assessments and interventions with neglected children and neglectful families. The course refers to the Swindon Safeguarding Partnership Neglect Framework and Practice Guidance (2020) as well as national guidance, Childhood Neglect: Improving Outcomes for Children, 2011. The training will equip practitioners to understand the context and their responsibilities in relation to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Target groupThis course is aimed at professionals across all agencies working with children, parents/carers and families who need an advanced knowledge of safeguarding. Pre-course reading materialsYou need to refer to the working with neglect workbook on the day of the training.
