Course information

Course delivered in a virtual classroom on MS Teams.

Aims to promote understanding of the process to professionals to feel more confident in understanding sexual behaviour in children/young people.

The course will consider:

  • what we know about young people who sexually harm
  • definition of harmful sexual behaviours (HSB)
  • Brooks Traffic Light Tool of Sexual Behaviours
  • What an AIM3 assessment is
  • AIM3 assessment report
  • Making referrals for AIM 3

As this is an introductory level course, there are no prerequisites required.

Aims and objectives

The learning outcomes for this course are that you will:

  • have an increased understanding of the continuum of young people’s sexual behaviours
  • be able to define harmful sexual behaviour (HSB)
  • be able to impart information to young people, families and colleagues about the AIM assessment process
  • be able to make a referral for an AIM3 assessment to be considered
