Staying safe online

 man using computer cartoon

Using the internet can be fun but it is important to stay safe when online as things can go wrong. Some thing's that can happen include posting pictures that you wish you hadn't, sharing details about something private that you wish you had kept secret or someone bullying you online.

If you feel frightened or worried about anything whilst using the internet, for example, on Facebook, Twitter, MySpace or in chat rooms, you should report it to a Child Exploitation and Online Protection advisor as you have a right to be safe.

The ThinkUKnow website has information on all the internet sites you like to visit, stuff about your mobile and  new technology. There is also a place that anyone can go to report it if they feel uncomfortable or worried about someone they are chatting to online.

The Childnet website is all about dangers on services like IM, online games, BBM email and mobiles.
