#Lookcloser to spot child exploitation

Published: Friday, 4th March 2022

Child exploitation awareness weeks take place from 7 to 20 March 2022.

#LookCloser is a partnership campaign between The Children’s Society, the National County Lines Co-ordination Centre and the British Transport Police aiming to raise awareness of child exploitation and abuse, with a particular focus on public spaces.

The campaign also seeks to challenge stereotypes of victimhood, highlighting that child exploitation can happen anywhere, and any young person can be a victim.

There are a number of updated #LookCloser digital resources available for use from 7 March 2022. These include specific resources for people working with children, businesses and members of the public. They can be accessed via the #LookCloser webpage

The Children’s Society’s Prevention Programme will also be co-ordinating a virtual Programme of Learning (see PDF below) during the awareness weeks. Further information about the sessions and how to book are included in the document. Spaces are limited it is recommended booking a place as soon as possible.
