We want to ensure that all children and young people have a voice, are heard and that their views are used to inform and improve the way we support and work with them in Swindon

Written by children and young people the Child First Swindon manifesto was co-produced with Swindon’s Young Changemakers, a diverse group of children and young people aged 12 to 25 years with a range of experiences, passions and skillsets who seek to drive lasting change in our communities.

Swindon’s Young Changemakers are facilitated by WAY - a young-person led charity that co-produces and delivers high impact and sustainable projects for children and young people.

The aim is to unite organisations, professionals, teachers, social workers, doctors, policymakers and other members of our communities across Swindon in committing to the Child First Framework of practice.

By embedding this principle into policy and practice, we aim to create an environment where children and young people have their needs, feelings, and potential put first.
